Hand-Held is an itinerant exhibition that believes in the power of touch. The contributing works all share a common interest in the body as a place for political thought: Each one of the ten works has been imbued with the artist’s touch and their own beliefs in a ritual approach to art-making. The show aims to disrupt the typically Covid distanced relationship a viewer has to a work of art, here, dwelling on the handmade, communication becomes reliant on physical touch which connects the viewer’s, or rather custodian’s palm, to the artists’ hands.
