I lack it, I like it

I lack it, I like it, is a project that I have been working on over the last few years. It started with an alliterative play on the words ‘lack’ and ‘like’ derivating from the controversial Freudian theory of the penis envy, where young girls experience anxiety upon realization that they do not have a penis. The text is printed on stickers that I have put in public places or that I have given to womxn I meet. It is an on-going ‘spread the message’ activity.

Recently, I have started interviewing womxn working in various fields of the artistic and creative industries on their notion of lack. The answers are posted on the Instagram account @lackitlikeit every week.

You can read the interviews here.
